I ordered a battery charger from a previous order and it arrived missing the car adapter. I contacted B&H and they sent a complete replacement unit, no questions asked.
For the customers that post negative reviews, they don't understand the business. B&H needs to verify credit card addresses in order to verify the purchaser is legitimate. Returns must comply with banking and government regulations. Those customers should try and work things out with the company. As with any large company with many employees, there will be times when mistakes get made, people are human. If things don't go as planned, contact them, ask for a manager and try and work things out, they will help you if you allow them to. |

First they charged my credit card later a sent me a mail to give them my published phone number. I replied them asking what they meant by a published phone number. They didnot explain it but asked me to call the customer service. I called them and again asked them to clear my doubts. I told them I have a Vonage phone number which is not counted as a traditional phone service by many. Then they asked me if I have any other phone number. I told them this is the only number I have which matched my local area code and insisted I don't want to continue with the order if they cannot process it with my existing phone number. The rude customer service rep without any apologies or explanation cancelled my order and hang the phone (yes i could here that voice). They took 5 days to return my money to my credit car. This again delayed my intended purchase with someone else.
This is my first shopping experience with the B&H and it turned out to be frustrating. I do all my camera gears through online purchases (Mostly Amazon and Adorama) and I never had a similar experience. No body asked me any published phone number or something like that. Disappointed, will never comeback.
I was a D40 user who wanted to upgrade the camera. Anyway B&H experience gave me some more time to consider better options and I went for a D300 from Cameta Camera which was a smooth transaction. |

I always get my packages the next day with 3-5 day ground. their website is well organized and they seem to have very generous vacation periods for their employees for many different holidays. Some people might not like this last part but to me it communicates their genuine appreciation for their employees which undoubtedly makes them better at customer service as well. |

I called them to cancel an order, knowing it was already out for delivery. They were happy to tell me how to cancel, and sent an email immediately for the return of the product just in case I wasn't able to stop the delivery. It took them less than two days to credit my account once they received the product return. They didn't charge any kind of fee, restocking or even return shipping. Buy from B&H with confidence. |

It's rare that a merchant can have some of the lowest prices and still maintain such a high level of customer service. If this transaction goes well, I'll probably be spending about 8,000 dollars more with them. We'll see how they do. The website was very well designed and easy to find what I wanted. They even update your cart in real time if something becomes UNavailable after you have selected it... i.e. someone bought the item while I was debating on it. Anyway, so far so good. |

I've had years of great service until I tried to purchase a D700 camera last week. The camera was back-ordered, however they IMMEDIATELY charged my debit card $3,036 anyways.
I called to see when they expected the camera to ship -- they had NO idea. They couldn't tell me if it would be a few days, a few weeks, a few months -- yet they already took $3,036 cash out of my checking account. Isn't that illegal??
I cancelled the order and received an email confirmation. The email states they have the right to hang onto my money for SEVERAL DAYS before transmitting the money back to my bank for credit. It's 5 days later and the money still hasn't been credited to my account. Unacceptable!!
I am a professional photographer in NYC and could give B&H a LOT of business over the years. Now I DO NOT trust them. I will continue to give Adorama the bulk of my major purchased.
I am VERY disappointed, B&H...you lost me as a customer and I will tell others about this terrible service. |
