| Rating | 5 / 5 | | Comment | I was looking for a Sennheiser HD280 Pro headphone set. Looked at reviews for Adorama and gave them a call. I was very pleased with the sales person I spoke to. The agent was very soft spoken and told me politely about the product as well as the return policy.
Just the quality of the pitch he made (not at all script-like) is making me re-think the purchase from these guys instead of online shopping at Amazon which I usually do - even if it costs me 5-10 bucks more.
Reminded me of good old days when shopkeepers were driven by buyer's experience and not just by price. |

| Rating | 5 / 5 | | Comment | A terrific experience! I was torn between a Nikon D80 and a Canon 40D. Now that I have the Canon, I understand how these two cameras are not in the same class, IMHO. At first, I was simply out for the Nikon. I found the lowest price at ShopDigitalDirect. I made the foolish mistake of not checking them out first. I read the reviews of SDD after I placed my order - boy, was I shocked. I immediately canceled by credit card and tried to cancel the transaction with SDD. I was successful and even received a friendly email from them, confirming. When I first called, however, the person answering the phone said, "So, you are calling to cancel?" "Yes", I said. "CLICK" was all I heard after that! I never thought I would be able to cancel. Back on track. I ordered the 40D with the 17-85mm kit. Adorama had the lowest price for this kit, they were also only one of a few that had this kit - the others, however, were out of stock anyway. The order was placed on July 31. I had the camera and equipment the next morning! Perfect condition. Excellent packaging. Complete with all paperwork and discs. Although I will be reading the owner's manual for the next 12 months, I am super pleased with Adorama. Excellent choice for an expensive, on-line purchase. Boy, did I learn a lesson. |

I have returned it, which was very easy thanks to customer service. I then ordered a 30d, which I unhappily found was out of stock and decided to cancel my order out of pure frustration. I'm still in the market for a new canon, but I'm now a little weary of Adorama. |

The price is very good compare to my local price. I am impressed with the efficency. Some previous purchase of second hand equipment needed to be returned due to not working properly. The return of the good was handled well and refund given.
I would certainly use Adorama again, and so far have bought about $4000 worth of equipment from them. |

| Rating |  4 / 5 | | Comment | This is an altered review from the one I initially posted. I was initially quite dissatisfied with the purchase of used Minolta lens. In brief, I had ordered the Maxxum 35-105mm lens; Adorama does not upload photos of the used lenses, and the lens was not noted as being from a later or different series, so I assumed it would be the older, original version of the lens--but in fact it did turn out to be from the newer (and optically inferior) "I" or "N" series. Adorama's customer service following my complaint was, however, fantastic--honestly, the best and most responsive service I have ever received, and while I was not able to get the lens I wanted from them, they immediately refunded my money, plus shipping. Adorama is a quality outlet--of course, I knew that all along, otherwise I would not have ordered from them in the first place. Despite my initial dissatisfaction, I would definitely be willing to order from them again. The only caveat I will make here is that, while they are a first class company, if you are ordering a used lens and no photo is uploaded on their site, if you know there is more than one version of the lens then I would definitely call them first and see if they can confirm exactly which lens you would be getting before you place the order. I am listing this transaction as "Somewhat satisfied" because, while I was extremely satisfied with their customer service, I really, really, really wanted to get that particular lens, and now I am leaving for vacation Monday without it. But like I said, definitely they are a first rate outlet, and if you are ordering new merchandise especially I am sure there would never be any confusion. |

Adorama's website claims further verification is required for international orders in the form of a faxed or emailed copy of your most recent bank statement. Despite providing this to at least 4 different contacts at Adorama, no action was taken and no response was provided to my emailed queries as to what the delay was. I had to spend a lot of time and money calling internationally to find out what was going on. They ended up requesting a further image of my credit card (front and back) which my bank advised me not to provide. In the end, I again received no reply to my emails and ended up having to call one last time to cancel my order.

For several weeks I was in search of "the perfect" photo frame that would not distract from my photograph. I stumbled upon Adorama Camera's site while doing a general search for an odd frame size. The Dennis Daniels Glass Clip Picture Frame caught my eye and I decided to buy it. The picture on Adorama's web page does not do it justice. This is how pictures should be displayed........frameless! The only downside was that it did not come with any hardware to hang on the wall. The problem was easily solved by buying a package of hanging clips/screws at a local hardware store for under $2. With fast shipping, good quality glass, the frame's price and uniqueness, you can't go wrong. |

Then I talked to a guy Jack o he said I would get $406 I said I wanted a new Canon 70-200 f4l there was a instant rebate so it would cost $560 I would pay the difference I was told buy some very quick talking guys they had a demo for $499 same warranty everything I really wanted the new one But I was assured it was just a demo people had looked at. well I got it today and it was a used one with only a 90 day warranty I fell like I got screwed by a couple used car salesmen the new one had free shipping they charged me shipping and they wound up only giving me $ 400 for my old stuff instead of the $406 they promised. but the main thing is they said I would get a demo but they sent me a used one. BEWARE OF THESE GUYS |

The person I spoke with, Meyer, was both professional & pleasant. He politely asked, without any sense of pressure or urgency,
if I required any additional acessories such as filters. I said no & he accepted that without additional selling rhetoric. I did not receive a follow-up call, as many obnoxious electronic retailers do disguised as a "wanting to check..." with the in your face intent to add more commercial pressure. I recieved the appropriate email confirmation & the products arrived as promised. My fantasy would be that Adorama's & other reputable retailers example, would be the universal standard by law, with strict enforcement to the owners whose lack of commercial ethics & reliable service is widely used. Although an extension of an actual "brick and mortar" store, Adorama continues to dazzle me with their honesty, responsiveness to customers' problems, careful packaging of shipments and the speed with which merchandise is delivered. My recent purchase from Adorama was relatively small in contrast to the "thousands of dollars" purchases I have made in the past. However, I knew when I purchased the item, small in price that it is, they would deliver ahead of schedule and the package would show up undamaged and fully documented so that I can properly register the item with the manufacturer.
To sum up my relationship with Adorama in a few words: They have been like a friend to me for years and I totally trust their prices to be fair, accurately described, and fully backed by Adorama's policy that the sale isn't finished until the customer is satisfied.

Along with the spotting scope I ordered a tripod which upon arrival appeared to be defective. Adorama quickly sent out another and I was very, very pleased. The next tripod exhibited the same problem and in the end it turned out that my spotting scope was just too big. Adorama quickly agreed to the refund and after I promptly returned the two items, Adorama promptly refunded my money as well. Could not be happier! |

Couldn't have been more content with the ordering process and competitive pricing which saved me hundreds of dollars if not more (plus no sales tax). If anyone plans to buy with a credit or debit card from another state then the one they originally live in (esp. college students), prepare to receive a call just to verify. They seem to take such things seriously which is never bad.

| Rating | 5 / 5 | | Comment | I have great experience purchasing from adorama camera store. they had the lowest price available at that time. gps was on great condition. exactly as expected. i made the purchase on june 25 and the garmin product purchased after april or so qualify for 2009 map update where mine came with 2008 map. i could not get the latest map from garmin site. i had to send the proof of purchase to garmin to get the map update. garmin told me that the gps got the satellite signal on jan 23rd and that disqualified me for getting automatic update from garmin site. it had to be adjusted manually and later, after the purchase verification, i was able to download the latest map.
i do not know why adorama had to open and turn on the gps on jan 23rd which disqualified me to get the map update. it this garmin's trick to discourage the customers getting map update easily?? |

ResellerRatings has reminded me how important it is to order from a reliable store, rather than shopping on price alone. Recently I had fallen into the trap of shopping for price alone, and had had some unpleasant experiences because of that. Interesting that when I read the reviews on the stores I'd had trouble with, they sound so much like my own experience. |

Since I am in Singapore, it is a bit problematic to send the camera back and will take a long time before I will get my camera back. This makes me very disappointed; Adorama is not trying to give the best product to its customer. |

It was acknowledged and a shipping advise sent on 6/30 but with no tracking number ("could not retrieve shipping info"). I calling NY from CA during daytime is futile. After a hold of 30 minutes I gave up. Sent two emails on successive days with no response. Got up early at 6 a.m. to call and succeeded. I got the tracking # but it is USPS, not UPS as the website says ("$6.95 plus .35 cents per pound (for UPS Zone 2,"). Got email response two days later. Not a terrible experience but not a very comfortable one either. |
