After getting scammed at fotoconnection.com, I reviewed this site and chose to check out Crutchfield.com. I called on the phone and spoke to "Tony" who was very pleasant and helpful. I informed him that I was interested in a Nikon D40 kit, and maybe an additional 55-200mm vr- lens.The kit was only $429 ($20 cheaper than Best Buy or Circuit City) and he informed me that the 55-200mm VR lens was on sale for only $149! Shipping was free (and on time), and so is return shipping if needed.
The Nikon D40 kit & lens arrived professionaly packaged and was exactly what I ordered with no surprises. NEW USA warranty items in NEW Nikon factory boxes- NO GREY MARKET ITEMS!

I ordered a Canon 50D camera with a 28 - 135mm lens and a Lexar 2G memory card from Crutchfield, and was extremely pleased with the entire process, and the salesman who took my order.
The camera was due in warehouses on 10/08/08, but I decided to preorder on 10/07/08.
I spoke with a salesman named Buzz, ext. #3209, who did not try to pressure me at all to preorder. When I was debating purchasing expedited shipping, he told me not to spend the money, as the camera should arrive at my house within 2-3 days with their standard free shipping.
He also did not even mention an extended warranty, which I appreciated.
Even though the camera was not scheduled to arrive in their warehouse for another day, the entire order arrived at my house on 10/10/08, which was within the 2-3 days that Buzz had promised.
Everything was well packaged, with styrofoam peanuts inside tha package to protect the merchandise, and everything was perfect when it arrived and I opened it.
Because they offered free shipping and did not charge sales tax, they were the least expensive of all the online retailers that I considered.
I would not hesitate to order again frim Crutchfield. I feel that they have the same degree of professionalism that I had always thought was exclusive to LL Bean.
One of the best, most helpful, most reliable, and most friendly online retailers I've dealt with. I was interested in a Sony Blu-ray Disc player that was out of stock everywhere, including Amazon.com. I was surprised that Crutchfield listed it as "In Stock" but their friendly, helpful Online Chat advisers confirmed it was in stock. After placing the order, the unit shipped the same day I ordered it. In fact, it shipped less than TWO HOURS after I ordered it.
Crutchfield.com is now at the top of my bookmarks.
I ordered an iPod interface for my new 2008 Toyota Tacoma. I used the companys website to find a fit for my truck, and ordered the part. I even called and talked with a representative before I placed the order to make sure it was completely compatible with my trucks radio and to see if I needed any extra parts to make it fit. The representative I talked with was very helpful and professional. Even though the item was backordered, the order was filled and I received it before two weeks was up. The device worked perfectly with my truck. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone.
I hate to do this to Crutchfield, but I have to give them a bad review. It is not so much their problem than it is the problem of the shipping company they use, but it is still their choice to use Eagle Freight. I received a call from Eagle on Wednesday trying to set up an appointment and we agreed to Friday between 1 and 5. Around six that day I gave Eagle a call and they said there had been a communication error between the trucker and the person I spoke with on the phone. I stayed home from work for five hours Friday for nothing. They told me they would deliver it Saturday (the next day) between 10 and 12 in the morning. I called them around 1pm Saturday and was told that the same error had occurred and that the TV was still in their warehouse. It was finally delivered about 3 hours and at least 4 phone calls later. I would have expected Crutchfield to use a more reliable shipping company with all of their great reviews. I am very disappointed.
My first purchase from Crutchfield. The shipment arrived today. The whole process was a fantastic experience. The website is very usable. I had to use phone support because I was using some coupons. The person on the phone was amazingly patient and courteous. I was given a date when the product would ship and an estimate of when to expect the delivery. Simply top notch service. I will going back more to Crutchfield.
